The experience in providing tradesman and home renovators with design and technical advice has been in the family for the past 45 years. It all started with late Alex George Favelle and his eldest son Robert as a manufacturer of timber products. In 1994, Andrew Favelle, a great-grandson of Alex and Robert’s son join the business, bringing with him a carpentry apprenticeship and trade as a staircase manufacturer redirecting the focus of the business to retailing timber.
We can surely say that the support and experience within the building industry is part of the family. It is with all that experience, support to the VUETRADE Timber connectors products and a passion for providing technical advice that we are pleased to share our June Store of the month.

At Abbey Timber, we aim to make it easy for tradies to shop with us by having everything they need to complete their job under one roof. We accommodate for this by regularly introducing new products to our range and we offer genuine trade discounts. What makes your store different from all the other stores?
Abbey Timber is different from other stores because we have everything under one roof and specialize in Timber Flooring and Decking. We strive to be your one-stop-shop. Customer service is also a major role in helping us stand out. We have a team who have knowledge of the building and floor laying industry to help our customers. We value our customers and the relationships we create with them. Abbey Timber has Sydney’s largest range of timber flooring and decking in stock, so our customers are spoilt with choice.
Rely on technical knowledge to provide great customer service is a good combination to succeed with builders and tradies and when you put that together with a variety of product that makes a difference to them you have a differentiation in the level of service provided in-store, make them come back for more.
Is location, unique products, or customer service that matters when It comes to a business providing the best for your customers?
All of this matter when it comes to providing a service for our customers. When we relocated to our current warehouse in Moorebank, Location was everything. Being situated right off the M5 makes it convenient for customers. We also took into consideration, space. We have done several renovations to our trade areas to accommodate all of our products and having dedicated areas. We recently installed a trade desk, to allow for more space and for staff to be all together for customers.
How do our products make a difference in your store & What do you /your clients like the most about our products?
Since introducing the range of Vuetrade products to our hardware line our sales have increased from what we were selling of previous brands. I believe there are a couple of reasons for this one being the broad range of products and quality and the presentation of the boxes and signage on our shelves help the customers find what they are after easier.
We love the fact that we have a dedicated account manager who calls into our store to help check stock requirements, makes us aware of any new products that are available and helps with in-store training for our sales staff. Also, a big plus is when we place orders our stock arrives within a few days and so far, we have never had any products placed on backorders, the stock is always available.
