In house testing by VUETRADE identified a problem with the washer fixed design of Bolt Down Post Supports. The washer fixing design returns a low load rating and capacity and there were also issues around pivoting on the central fixing point.
Whilst the old design was fast to install with a single centre bolt, our in house testing demonstrated poor holding capacity. The centre washer simply ‘pops’ out from the washer hole under uplift pressure
Testing of the new design has a 36% improvement over against the old washer fixed design (test report available on request). We are also currently working on a further improvement; testing results on this further improvement will be available in the coming months.
The new design incorporates a cap which gives a nice, neat finish on a standard low price point product!
